Dr. Santoshi Mohanta, Assistant Professor, School of Chemical Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University, was awarded International Travel Support by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India, to participate in the International Conference on Composite Materials and Material Engineering (ICCMME 2026) held in Tokyo, Japan.

At the conference, she presented her research paper titled: “Assessing the Residual Strain Development in Thick FRP Composite Laminates Using Embedded Temperature and FBG Strain Sensors.” The research focuses on the real-time monitoring of residual strain evolution in thick fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites using embedded Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) strain and temperature sensors, contributing to the advancement of smart composite manufacturing and structural health monitoring.

The conference provided an excellent platform for knowledge sharing, scientific discussions, and the exchange of innovative ideas with researchers and experts from around the world. The visit also enabled the establishment of valuable international research connections, opening avenues for future collaborations in the field of advanced composite materials and sensor-integrated engineering.
