Research Overview

Sashikant Nayak has over four years of experience in teaching Engineering Mathematics and about eleven years of research experience in Ocean Wave Modelling, Oceanography. He has earn his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India. He has a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack and an M.Sc. in Mathematics National Institute of Technology Rourkela. He has worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Texas A&M University at Qatar and University of Malaya before joining the current position.  He has authored and co-authored several articles in various peer reviewed journals.

Research Group

The group is involved in understanding and use of extreme value analysis in predicting extreme events such as in ocean wave heights, coastal flooding. The group is also engaged in coastal wave modeling in particular in the Bay of Bengal, India.
